U.S. Futures & World Markets

US equity futures are mixed as we await inflation data to end the week — PPI today and CPI tomorrow. Yields keep grinding higher as the 10-year pushes toward the psychologically important 5.00% level.

From the JPMorgan desk: OIS is pricing a 63% probability of a 25bp hike at the September 16 FOMC meeting. A dovish CPI print should ease the pressure from rising yields and allow equities to refocus on growth and earnings.

The market craves certainty, and we're far from certain on where interest rates, oil prices, and inflation are headed. Until we get more clarity, expect this tape to "chop around." https://mcore.hopp.to/youtube382
